Dolphins’ Week 14 matchup vs. Chargers flexed to Sunday night

Going 8-3 through the first 12 weeks of the 2022 campaign, the Miami Dolphins have set themselves up for some important contests down the stretch.

The NFL apparently agrees, as they’ve agreed to flex Miami’s Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers from 4:00 p.m. ET to Sunday Night Football.

Originally, the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos were scheduled in that slot, but with how Russell Wilson’s team has played this year, it’s not all that surprising that they’re not wanted in prime time.

This move will give the viewing audience the opportunity to watch two of the top quarterbacks from the 2020 draft class, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert, battle for just the second time in their young careers.

Los Angeles enters Week 13 with a 6-5 record, so they’re fighting to stay in the playoff picture. If the season ended today, Brandon Staley’s group would not be playing postseason football, while Mike McDaniel’s would be the second seed in the AFC.

This should be a contest that will have everyone’s eyes on it.
