Dolphins vs. Bengals buzz dominated by taping-practice controversy

The Cincinnati Bengals find themselves in some minor drama and buzz surrounding the primetime game against the Miami Dolphins.

Those Dolphins left Florida a day early to avoid the incoming hurricane and as a result practiced at UC’s Nippert Stadium.

Not long after (or perhaps even during), videos of the practice shot by onlookers surfaced on social media. One prominent example was Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, refusing to take down footage on Twitter at the request of the Dolphins.

Al Butler of UI and the Miami Herald then reported that NFL security will actually get involved or has been involved in this matter:

There’s also this:

Problem is, Nippert Stadium’s layout is infamous for this sort of thing. Several skyscrapers overlook the bowl, as do classrooms and dining halls. It’s also routinely open for students to pass through.

While the Dolphins probably don’t like footage leaking onto social media, they also probably understood the layout going into things while picking the highest-quality field on short notice. The NFL’s investigation will undoubtedly turn up students and otherwise snapping some videos and nothing related to the Bengals.
