Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was one of the most scrutinized players entering this NFL season with many agreeing that this was a make-or-break year for him.

Well, through 10 weeks, Tagovailoa has answered the call and has shown that he can lead this team in Mike McDaniel’s system. In his eight games, he’s completed 71% of his attempts for 2,265 yards, 18 touchdowns and just three interceptions with a league-leading 118.4 passer rating.

Tagovailoa’s play has earned him some praise from NFL analysts and Dolphins fans who have begun putting him in the MVP discussion. Looking at the updated odds by Tipico Sportsbook, he’s moved up to second, as he’s currently sitting at +400.

The only player ahead of him is Patrick Mahomes (+125).

Tagovailoa has soared past his former Crimson Tide teammate Jalen Hurts (+480) and AFC East rival Josh Allen (+600) after both teams lost their Week 10 matchups against the Washington Commanders and Minnesota Vikings, respectively.

It will be hard for Tagovailoa to beat up Mahomes for the award, as Kansas City’s quarterback is on pace for 5,546 yards, 47 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

However, the play of Miami’s quarterback has still been impressive and is deserving of acknowledgment.
