Dollar dollar bill, y’all. New Dollar Tree/Family Dollar combo store to open in Midlands

Discount hunters in one rural area of the Midlands will soon find nirvana.

A Family Dollar/Dollar Tree combo store which combines the two iconic discount brands under one roof — is being prepped on Columbia Highway in Leesville, less than a half-mile from the Saluda traffic circle at Highways 378 and 391.

While an opening date has not been announced, construction on the combo store has been underway for some time. Signage recently went up at the site, and shelving had been erected inside the store as of Sunday afternoon.

That rural stretch of road just east of the traffic circle will soon have several discount general stores: The new Leesville Family Dollar/Dollar Tree combo is setting up shop directly across the road from a Dollar General, which is located at 3361 Columbia Highway.

The Dollar Tree company acquired the Family Dollar chain back in 2015, according to a news release on Dollar Tree’s corporate website.

Per industry publication Store Brands, Dollar Tree announced earlier this year that it would be aggressively expanding its Family Dollar/Dollar Tree combo stores in 2022, adding 400 new units nationwide.
