Whether it’s a Ring Video Doorbell, smart lightbulbs or an Amazon Echo, there’s basically a smart device for every aspect of your life — even for your dogs.

If you’ve ever been nervous to leave your dog alone while running errands or going to work, there’s a solution to keep both you and your furry friend at ease.

The Furbo Dog Camera is the treat-tossing, two-way audio device that keeps an eye on your precious pup day or night. Typically, the Furbo costs a whopping $169. But right now, you can score the device for just $118 during Prime Day— that’s 30% off!

$118 $169 at Amazon

While the Furbo first launched in 2016, it was actually one of last year’s best-selling products during the holidays. With more than 31,000 reviews on Amazon, the device has an overall 4.5 out of 5 stars rating.

So how does the Furbo Dog Camera work exactly?

You’ll control everything from your phone (or from an Alexa-enabled device), courtesy of the Furbo smartphone app. Thanks to the 1080p full HD camera, you can access a 160-degree, wide-angle view (complete with night vision) anytime you’re away from your dog. And because there’s a mic and speaker, you can speak to your dog to comfort them while simultaneously listening to make sure they don’t get into anything that’s off limits.

There’s even a built-in barking sensor that triggers the app to send push notifications straight to your phone, just in case something is wrong. Furbo’s barking alerts have actually saved over 100 dogs from fires, gas leaks and intruders, according to the product description.

For the times they’re being a good pup, the Furbo device can also toss a treat to your dogs. And to be sure you capture all the adorable moments throughout the day, each camera comes with a 90-day free trial of Cloud Recording, which automatically captures video of your dog when triggered by barking or movement.

But with so many reviews, it’s a favorite for a reason. Some reviewers have mentioned it “works like a dream,” especially if you’re a new puppy owner.

“As the owner of a new puppy, I couldn’t imagine how anxious I would be leaving the puppy for the day,” one shopper said. “Best. Purchase. Ever. The quality of the image, both regular and night vision, is excellent.” You can even talk to dog walkers through the Furbo, which is an added convenience, the reviewer mentioned.

Another convenient Furbo feature is that even after setup, you can move the camera around your home without WiFi connectivity issues.

“I regularly move this camera around to different outlets to get various views of my dogs during the day, and it has no problems reconnecting to the network provided,” the customer said.

The only downside some shoppers mention is that treats often get stuck when being ejected from the device. However, this is often due to the positioning of the treats, which is easily adjustable.
