When does Chick-fil-A breakfast end? Explaining hours, Sunday closure and more.

You can get a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and the signature waffle fries just about anywhere in the United States. According to Entrepreneur, the only U.S. states without Chick-fil-A are Alaska, Hawaii, and Vermont. The chain has locations in the other 47, as well as Washington, D.C.

As of June 2022, there are 2,813 Chick-fil-A locations in the United States, according to data company ScrapeHero.

The restaurant’s reach is due, in part, to its low cost of ownership, costing a franchisee as little as $10,000, according to The Hustle, though the company charges a steep royalty fee.

When does Chick-fil-A stop serving breakfast?

We called a Chick-fil-A location in each time zone in the continental United States to find out what time their breakfast ends. Each said they serve breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. local time, giving consumers a four hour window in which to grab Chick-n-Minis, a Hashbrown Scramble Burrito or any other breakfast item.

This is consistent with the company’s website, which says the chain stops serving breakfast at 10:30 a.m.

Why is Chick-fil-A closed on Sundays?

Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, decided to close the restaurant each Sunday when he opened the first location in Hapeville, Georgia. According to the corporate web site, the "practice started to give restaurant employees (and himself) a day to rest. … Chick-fil-A restaurant owners and team members knew they could count on at least one day each weekend they could devote to resting, friends and family and personal pursuits."

This decision has lost Chick-fil-A plenty of Sunday business, including in Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, which regularly hosts Atlanta Falcons Sunday NFL games. The company, though, has kept its policy and continues to serve guests six days a week.
