Doc Rivers reacts to Sixers signing Anthony Tolliver, how he can help

The Philadelphia 76ers made a deal on Saturday when they brought in NBA veteran Anthony Tolliver on a 10-day contract as they continue to try and fortify their bench for the stretch run of the NBA season. Tolliver is a career 37.3% shooter from deep so he qualifies as a stretch big in the league.
Tolliver will be joining a deep team at his position in Tobias Harris who is having a career season and then there’s Mike Scott who has played for coach Doc Rivers before this season and he understands his role. There is no guarantee of minutes for him, but to have him on the roster will be a big help.
“I don’t know about minutes unless you want me to bench Tobias or somebody like that,” said Rivers. “Just joining the team hopefully soon and I don’t even know that answer. Maybe in Dallas and if not probably right when we return home from them.”
In terms of how he can help the team, Rivers has an idea of what he can bring to the table.
“He’s a veteran,” the coach explained. “He can shoot the ball, he’s been around the block, which I think this team needs, so I think he can help in that regard.”
A lot of people do not understand that Philadelphia is still a young team and they will need more veterans to lean on and be able to show the ropes to some of the younger players on this team. Tolliver qualifies as that and he will serve a role on this team going forward.
