How to make handmade jewelry bowls for Mother’s Day

  1. Trace your kid’s hand on a piece of paper, then cut it out.

  2. On a flat surface, roll out the clay until it’s approximately ⅛ - ¼ inch thick, so it’s malleable yet sturdy when shaping it later on.

  3. Place the hand cutout on the clay.

  4. Have an adult carefully use an X-Acto knife to cut out the handprint.

  5. Mold the hand around the bottom of a bowl and let it fully dry overnight. You can use any round object. Get creative – you can even use fruit!

  6. Once it is completely dry, decorate the bowl and let it dry.

  7. Spread a thin layer of gloss all over the bowl. (Note: Glossing is optional, though it adds a nice sheen for a finishing touch.)

  8. Give it to someone you love.
