District 9-South football results

Oct. 16—Lanesboro 48, Mabel-Canton 16

MABEL — No. 2-ranked Lanesboro continued its run through District 9-South on Friday, jumping out to a quick lead en route to a 45-6 victory against Mabel-Canton.

The Burros improved to 7-0 overall, with their regular-season finale set for Wednesday at home against Spring Grove.

Lanesboro led 14-0 after the first quarter and 26-0 at halftime. It finished the game with 394 total yards of offense, including 361 rushing yards. The Burros were led offensively by JT Rein, who carried the ball nine times for 140 yards and touchdown runs of 10, 58 and 24 yards.

Quarterback Seth Semmen ran for 109 yards on nine attempts and scored three touchdowns, on runs of 21, 41 and 28 yards. Orion Sass added 46 yards rushing and Hayden Lawstuen ran for 33 yards.

Kaden Stettler added a 16-yard touchdown pass to Peyton Olson and Mason Howard had one catch for 17 yards.

Mabel-Canton (3-4) finished with 251 yards of offense, with 173 on the ground. Cayden Tollefsrud ran 32 times for 131 yards and two scores. Jordan Larson added 78 passing yards and Tyler Larson added 72 total yards.

Grand Meadow 40, Lyle/Pacelli 14

GRAND MEADOW — Five Grand Meadow players scored a touchdown in a dominant first half and the No. 8-ranked Superlarks routed visiting Lyle/Pacelli 40-14 on Friday.

Grand Meadow built a 33-0 halftime lead and tacked on a third-quarter TD to extend its lead.

Dustin Copley scored twice for Grand Meadow (6-1), while Taylor Glynn, Alex Stevens, Jacob Kerrins and Wesley Soltau scored once each.

Jon Whalen scored on a 53-yard run for L/P in the fourth quarter and Logyn Brooks caught a 9-yard TD pass from Jake Truckenmiller.

Glynn paced the Superlarks with 195 yards on 9-for-12 passing. Copley caught three balls for 77 yards, while Kerrins caught two for 57 yards. Copley also led the team in rushing, with 85 yards on 8 attempts. Glynn added 64 yards and a score on three carries.

L/P (0-6) wraps up its regular season at home on Wednesday against LeRoy-Ostrander.

Grand Meadow plays its final regular season game at Kingsland on Wednesday.

LEROY — LeRoy-Ostrander scored 57 points for the second time this season, getting it done Friday behind the play of quarterback Chase Johnson.

The senior star rushed for 184 yard and four touchdowns, and also passed for 80 yards.

Layne Bird had 111 yard rushing and a touchdown as the Cardinals finished with 396 rushing yards as a team.

Houston quarterback Morgan Rohweder was 8-for-14 pasing for 84 yards. The Hurricanes were held to 24 yards rushing.

There were five fumbles in the game. L-O lost all three of its, and Houston lost both of its.

L-O is 5-2 overall, while Houston is 2-5.

Spring Grove 20, Kingsland 19

SPRING GROVE — Hunter Holland scored a touchdown with 41 seconds to play to lift Spring Grove to a one-point win over Kingsland.

Spring Grove trailed 19-14 and faced a fourth-and-2 from the Southland 48 prior to Holland's run He proceeded to run 48 yards for the winning score.

Hunter finished with 77 yards rushing on 12 carries and two TDs.

Spring Grove trailed 19-7 in the fourth quarter when Eli Solum tossed a 10-yard TD pass to Tysen Grinde.

Solum was 3-for-7 passing for 47 yards and a TD. Grinde rushed for 74 yards and was also 5-for-15 passing for 32 yards with two interceptions.

Spring Grove (3-3) had 116 yards rushing and 79 passing.

James Howard rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown for Kingsland (3-4) while Kaden Roth rushed for 54 yards. QB Kale Mensink ran for 41 yards and was 6-for-12 passing for 49 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He threw a 7-yard scoring pass to Mason Kolling.

The Knights had 239 yards, 191 rushing and 48 passing.
