A month-old interview from Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops surfaced Tuesday, and some believe he took a jab at Shane Beamer with his comments.

In the now-viral clip — shot for the “Marty and McGee” show July 20 at SEC Media Days in Atlanta — Stoops was discussing the difference between changing the “climate” of a program and changing its “culture.”

“It’s easy to change a climate,” Stoops said in the clip that aired Tuesday on various ESPN networks. “You change a uniform, talk a little game, dance around, put on some stupid sunglasses.”

Many on social media believe Stoops was referring to Beamer’s video that released on social media as South Carolina took its turn at SEC Media Days a day before. In that video, Beamer put on sunglasses and danced with some USC players to Soulja Boy’s “Turn My Swag On.”

This isn’t the only time recently that Stoops made news for comments toward another coach.

Last week, he and Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari got into a war of words when Calipari referred to Kentucky as a “basketball school.”

“Basketball school?” Stoops wrote on Twitter. “I thought we competed in the SEC? #4straightpostseasonwins.”

The Gamecocks will play the Wildcats in Lexington, Kentucky on Oct. 8. The last time South Carolina beat Kentucky on the road was 2012, and the Wildcats have had the upper hand in seven of the last eight matchups.
