Detroit Concours d'Elegance

In the switch from Concours of America to the Detroit Concours d'Elegance comes a change of venue. It was hosted at the Detroit Institute of Art in the city's downtown area. Like Cars and Community, the concours had a wide array of automobiles, more than 100 of them. They included historic concept cars such as the Ford Mustang I, Chrysler Turbine car and Buick Y-Job, hot rods and customs, vintage sports cars, pre-war machinery and more. The overall winner of the event was a 1937 Delahaye 135 roadster

JOEL STOCKSDALE: Hi, everyone, and welcome to the Detroit Concours d'Elegance. This is the continuation of the Concours of America, which used to be held up at the end at St. John's. But this year, has been renamed Detroit Concours d'Elegance because it's now here in Downtown Detroit.

We're at the Detroit Institute of Art, out in kind of the front lawn area. Cars are all on display around, and there's about 140 of them, in all kinds of different vehicle classes ranging from traditional, pre-war stuff to muscle cars to hot rods. There's a little bit of everything here, and we just wanted to give you a quick taste of what the Detroit Concourse is like.
