One man dead, one wounded in shooting at apartment complex in Northland
Columbus police homicide detectives are investigating a shooting Friday morning that left one man dead and another wounded in Northland.
The shooting was reported at 10:13 a.m. in a parking lot at the Bluff Gardens apartments complex in the 1800 block of Oak Grove Court, located off Tamarack Boulevard north of Morse Road.
Police said a male victim, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:24 a.m. The death is the 182nd homicide in Columbus this year.
A second male believed to be in his 20s was wounded and transported by friends to Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, police said. His injuries are non-life-threatening, police said.
The deceased male is not a resident of the apartment complex.
The identity of the man who was killed has not yet been released.
Multiple bullet holes could be seen in the front passenger window of a light-colored, four-door Lincoln sedan.
Detectives are investigating whether the shooting may have been the result of an online marketplace purchase that went bad.
A search is reportedly underway for a male suspect in a dark-colored hoodie. It was unknown whether he fled the scene in a vehicle or not.
No further information about the incident was immediately available.
