Denison tops Salisbury, advances to championship of NCAA Division III baseball regional

Kenny Lippman pitched a three-hitter and Denison defeated Salisbury 2-0 on Sunday to advance to the championship of the NCAA Division III baseball regional in Granville.

Later Sunday, Salisbury (32-9) eliminated William Paterson 17-3, landing a spot in the championship against Denison at 11 a.m. Monday. The regional format is double elimination, so if Salisbury wins that game, the teams will play again after that.

Denison scored both runs in the second inning. Jake Welsch singled and moved to second when Charlie Glennon reached on an error. Both runners advanced on Josh Bohn's groundout, then scored on Owen Wilson's single.

Lippman, a senior from McLean, Virginia, threw 135 pitches in the complete-game win, striking out 13 and walking one.

Here is the game schedule.
