Wichita Falls police identify victim in Brown Street homicide

Wichita Falls police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Zachary Ryan Wood after he was found deceased in a house on Brown Street.

Police were sent to check welfare around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. WFPD crimes against person detective Sgt. Brian Sheehan said they are investigating the case as a homicide.

WFPD public information officer Jeff Hughes said in a media release, "A deceased person was found in the house and it appeared foul play was involved." Crimes Against Persons detectives are leading the investigation.

The incident occurred in an older neighborhood a short distance from Wichita Falls High School.

On 5-21-22 at 12:28pm, Officers and the WFPD Crimes Against Persons Unit were called to 2100 Brown Street to a suspicious death. Officers found a white male inside the residence that appeared to be the victim of foul play.
