Davidson powers Britton-Hecla past Great Plains Lutheran: Sports scoreboard and roundup

BoDell Davidson accounted for 295 yards and four touchdowns for Britton as the Braves picked up a 44-34 season-opening win against Great Plains Lutheran Friday.

He scored on runs of 59 and 33 yards and also connected with Gage Storley (58 yards) and Wyatt Tosse (56 yards) on scoring passes.

Davidson wound up with 143 yards rushing and 152 yards passing.

Collin Beaner added a 27-yard touchdown run, and Luke Storley returned an interception for another score. Dashel Davidson made eight tackles and Beaner 7.5.

Thomas Erickson ran 25 times for 136 yards and four touchdowns for Great Plains Lutheran, which also got a 15-yard touchdown run from Micah Holien.

Warner 50, North Central 0: Warner amassed 270 rushing yards on 35 carries and the Monarchs picked up the win Friday. Hunter Cramer scored on runs of 25 and 55 yards and finished with 98 yards on just four carries.

Deuel 14, Clark-Willow Lake 0: Owen Quail scored on runs of one and five yards in the first half to carry Deuel to the win Friday. Braydon Simon ran for 55 yards, Quail 54 and Carver Nothem 51 for Deuel, which also got 48 passing yards from Simon. Trey Huber passed for 20 yards and ran for 30 for Clark-Willow Lake. Robbie Begalka made eight tackles and Dominic Constant six for Deuel.

Sisseton 22, Dakota Hills 0: Sisseton's defense recovered three fumbles, notched two quarterback sacks and limited the Grizzlies to 91 yards of total offense in the win Thursday. The Redmen tallied 187 yards of offense and got touchdown runs from Nate Tchida (11 carries for 83 yards), Mikah Hamm (12 for 78) and Ethan DeSpiegler. Jason Fisher caught three passes for 55 yards and Mason Shultz led the defense with seven solo tackles and six assists.

Hot Springs 14, Redfield 13: Hot Springs quarterback Preston Iverson scored on a 24-yard run with 1:46 remaining and the Bison converted the extra point to seal a nonconference win Saturday night in Redfield.
