Blues' David Perron and his pals live out their childhood hockey dream

You can see hockey stars painting this picture each and every NHL postseason. Hockey fans and commentators love to hear it, and the players love to share it:

“You grow up playing road hockey pretending that it’s Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.”

That’s the dream when you’re a hockey-loving kid spending summer days emulating your idols in between car breaks, but unfortunately for most of us, we never truly get to play for the game’s greatest trophy.

However, those close to Stanley Cup champion David Perron got to see that scenario come to life on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old gave his friends a moment they’ll never forget by hosting a road hockey game for the ultimate prize.

I can’t think of a better way to spend a day with the Cup than this.
