Dartmouth holiday tree buoys being auctioned off for charity

DARTMOUTH — The holiday tree at Padanaram fashioned from hand-painted buoys is finished and the buoys are up for auction.

The buoy tree will be officially lit by Massachusetts L. Gov, Karyn Polito during the Padanaram Holiday Festival, Saturday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The buoys were purchased by members of the general public and groups like the Dartmouth Council on Aging, art students from the Dartmouth Cultural Center, Inc., children from Learning House Preschool, DeMello Elementary School and Cushman Elementary School.

After the tree is done for the holidays, the buoys will be auctioned off and the proceeds with go to St. Peter's Episcopal Church for children's programs and Dartmouth United Outreach to help provide fresh food for SouthCoast families.

The buoy auction runs online until Dec. 15.
