Darnell Washington scores first career touchdown in first half of SEC Championship

Georgia football's Darnell Washington began the second quarter of the 2021 SEC Championship game with a milestone moment.

On 2nd-and-goal from the Alabama 5-yard line, the 6-foot-7, 265-pound tight end ran towards the back of the end zone and caught a pass from Stetson Bennett IV to give the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead on the first play of the second quarter.

The score was Washington's first collegiate touchdown. Prior to Saturday's championship, the sophomore from Las Vegas had eight catches for 140 yards on the season.

Washington is one of 10 Bulldogs to catch a pass from Bennett.
