Darius Bazley to be evaluated in morning after ankle sprain vs. Lakers

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Darius Bazley departed from the game against the Los Angeles Lakers midway through the third quarter with a right ankle sprain and did not return to the court.

The Thunder lost 128-99.

After the game, head coach Mark Daigneault said vice president of human and player performance Donnie Strack plans to have Bazley’s sprain evaluated on Thursday morning.

“The severity of it remains to be seen,” Daigneault said. “A lot of it with those, at least from what Donnie told me, is you gotta see him in the morning and see kind of how he responds to it.”

Bazley finished the game with just three points on five shots in 25 minutes of play. He spent most of his night defending Lakers star Anthony Davis, who scored 18 points in 25 minutes on 8-for-13 shooting.

With the loss, Oklahoma City falls to 5-6 on the season while the Lakers improve to a league-leading 10-3.
