Darel Middleton reopens recruitment less than a month after Jackson State commitment

Darel Middleton, who played at four schools before committing to Jackson State, has reopened his recruitment.

The announcement came on Twitter less than a month after the 6-foot-7, 305 pound defensive lineman committed to the Tigers on June 4.

"My recruitment is still 100% open," Middleton wrote on Twitter.

He played in 22 games and made 12 starts during his two seasons at Tennessee. He had 43 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and a pair of sacks.

He spent his first two years at East Mississippi Community College where he was a member of the 2018 NJCAA national title team.

Middleton played briefly at West Virginia last season and had committed to Alabama A&M.

The Knoxville native starred at Powell and Oak Ridge, earning a four-star ranking in high school. He was the nation's No. 39 juco prospect when he signed with Tennessee.
