Dalton Gimbor, Dillon Reinert win 2A regional wrestling titles

Feb. 27—Hamburg senior Dalton Gimbor and Brandywine Heights junior Dillon Reinert won titles Saturday at the Class 2A Southeast Regional Wrestling Championships at CD East High School.

In all, eight Berks wrestlers placed in the top five in their weight classes to advance to the East Super Regional at Pottsville's Martz Hall Saturday, March 6.

Bailey Gimbor's, Dalton's twin brother, lost in the 160-pound championship bout.

Among those advancing to the Super Regional were Hamburg 120-pounder Parker Davidson, who placed third by earning his 100th career win. He is the fifth wrestler in the Hamburg Class of 2021 to win 100 matches.

Brandywine Heights senior Noah Frack also earned his 100th win in the quarterfinals before being upset in the semifinals. He bounced back to place third at 145.

Hamburg's Brant Mason, who earned his 100th win last week while helping the Hawks win the District 3 Class 2A team title, placed fifth at 172 pounds.

Brandywine's Jake Deysher finished fourth at 103 and Berks Catholic's Brody Kline placed fifth at 215.

Dalton Gimbor won his regional title with a 6-4 decision over Boiling Springs' Michael Duggan in a rematch of their District 3 final from a week earlier that Gimbor also won.

Reinert scored a 4-3 decision over Notre Dame's Adam Schweitzer.

Bailey Gimbor suffered his first loss of the season, 7-0 to Notre Dame's Holden Garcia.
