Dakota Wesleyan's Jon Hart among three finalists for Northern State athletic director job

Sep. 17—ABERDEEN — Dakota Wesleyan University Athletic Director Jon Hart is among three finalists for the same job at Northern State University, the Division II university announced Friday.

Hart will have a public open forum in Aberdeen on Sept. 19 and have a two-day visit with campus personnel. He has been the DWU athletic director since April 2016, when he took over the position from his father, Curt. Prior to that, Hart, an Alexandria native and former DWU football and basketball player, was the school's associate athletic director.

The other candidates for the job include Brian Scislo, who is the senior associate athletic director for administration at the University of Tulsa, and Brian Jamros, who is the director of athletics and activities at Centennial (Minn.) High School and is a former athletic director at NCAA Division III St. Scholastica (Minn.).

"This is a big job, as our university is entering a new era of athletics, and we feel confident these three finalists are capable of bringing Wolves Athletics to the next level," NSU President Neal Schnoor said in a news release.

Northern intends for the new athletic director to be on the job by Jan. 3, 2022, the university said. The individual will replace Josh Moon, who stepped down after nine years to accept the same role at NCAA Division I University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
