Dakota Wesleyan University golf teams take third at Hardrocker Spring Invite

Apr. 15—RAPID CITY — The Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's golf teams both secured third-place finishes, including three top-10 individual performances after contending against eight teams at the Hardrocker Spring Invite on Monday and Tuesday at the Arrowhead Country Club in Rapid City.

On the women's side, DWU finished just three strokes out from second place with a team score of 703. Mitchell native Ashley Zimmer and Megan Hinker tied for seventh place, with each shooting a two-round score of 172. Winner native Ronae Klein placed 12th with a 180, while Parkston graduate Jayden Bormann and Erin Moncur tied for 16th with 185s.

The DWU men posted a 623, five strokes from second. Tony Hayes tied for sixth with a 153, while Devan Weelborg (156) was 12th and Mitchell's Cade Carpenter (158) was 15th.

The DWU women's team competes in the Dordt Invite Thursday and Friday at The Ridge in Sioux Center, Iowa.
