If there was one phrase to describe the 2022 girls track season, that would be it. Record-breaking.

Several athletes set new area marks — some that may stand for decades and some that will likely be broken in 2023, perhaps by the same person who broke the record this year.

Here are the 2022 All-Daily Record girls track and field teams (in alphabetical order):

FIRST TEAM

Brianna Chenevey (Dalton, jr., sprints)

All-Ohioan. ... Earned Div. III state medals in open 200-meter dash with fifth-place finish in 25.71 and as anchor of 4x1 relay unit that took third overall in 49.86. ... Just missed state final in 100 by 0.3 seconds, after career-best 12.52 in prelim heat. ... Also ran on state-qualifying 4x2 team. ... WCAL champ in both 100 and 200 and helped both 4x1 to area-best time.

All-Ohioan. ... Picked up first two Div. III all-state medals of career after eighth-place run in open 200, clocking 26.04, and helping 4x1 relay to third place in 49.86. ... Also advanced on 4x4 relay team that was 17th. ... Had second-fastest time in area for both 100 and 200 and ran on the fastest 4x1 team in area. ... Made second straight state appearance.

All-Ohioan. ... Earned second straight all-state finish at Div. III state meet in 3,200 with sixth-place run of 11:14.41. ... Also was state qualifier in 1,600 and placed 12th in 5:21.55. ... Lone area runner to break 11-minute mark with run of 10:57.67 at Tusky Valley. ... Also had second-fastest 1,600 time locally with career-best 5:03.65 at Massillon Regional.

Ainsley Hamsher (Orrville, sr., pole vault)

Div. III state runner-up. ... Finished second overall at state in pole vault with mark of 12-8 for second straight all-state honor. ... Finished one inch shy of personal and school-record jump of 12-9 set in win at Massillon Regional. ... Also was PAC-7 and Norwayne District champ in event. ... Was regional qualifier in 100 hurdles and carried third-fastest time in area in 16.65.
