If you find that your diet consists of mostly quick takeout meals, consider how many fruits and vegetables you're actually consuming. And then, think about trying Daily Harvest. The brand makes plant-based, healthy options for people on the go, from smoothies and soups to rice bowls and bite-sized snacks.

"Daily Harvest is the food you want to eat but don't have time to make," Christina Riggio, Daily Harvest's brand manager told In The Know.

Daily Harvest makes frozen meals that come in a cup. All you have to do is add water or a plant-based milk and either microwave or blend to prepare. To purchase, Daily Harvest is sold exclusively online (like a meal delivery kit) and the cups come as part of a weekly subscription. You can choose how many you'd like each week: Get a small box (7 cups), medium box (14 cups) or a large box (24 cups). However, you have the ability to skip a week if you know you're going to be out of town, plan to eat out with friends or want to save some money.

Some of our favorite Daily Harvest products include the Mint and Cacao smoothie, which tastes like mint chocolate ice cream that's actually good for you, and the Brussels Sprouts and Lime Pad Thai Harvest Bowl, which is made with shredded Brussels sprouts and Maine kelp noodles tossed in a spicy almond-sesame-ginger-lime sauce.

"We have an in-house chef and nutritionist that works closely with our customers to develop every recipe," Riggio said. "We like to listen to what our customers are saying, whether it's in focus groups or on social. We did a recent poll on Instagram to see what kinds of soups our customers wanted to have and unanimously everybody was like, we really want something creamy and rich for the fall, and so we launched our Sweet Potato and Miso Purée soup."

The main difference between Daily Harvest and other frozen food brands has to be its attention to high-quality, real, whole ingredients. According to the USDA, you should consume 1 to 2 cups of fruit and 1 to 3 cups of vegetables per day (depending on your size, age and sex). Daily Harvest makes it easy to make sure you're getting all the good vitamins and nutrients your body needs.

"You're going to see the ingredients right on the side of the cup. You know, the Sweet Potato and Miso Purée Soup has sweet potato, coconut, cauliflower—all whole ingredients that you'll be able to see when you open it," Riggio said.
