Cupcake Vineyards Wants to Buy Everyone a Glass of Wine for Dining Out This Summer

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurants and bars have been hit especially hard. So as the hospitality industry returns to normality, we've seen a push encouraging diners to go out and support these businesses. For instance, Coca-Cola recently announced a program offering to buy patrons a Coke when eating out. Of course, a free soft drink may not be enough motivation to get everyone off their couch, so now Cupcake Vineyards has come along with a similar plan that may be more up your alley: a free glass of wine.

As a way of "celebrating the return to dining out," Cupcake is offering $6 cash back on any glass of Cupcake wine purchased in a restaurant or bar starting July 1 all the way through to September 6. (Limit one per person, unfortunately!) According to the brand, all you have to do is snap a photo of your receipt and then upload it to CupcakeWelcomeBack.com along with your email to receive your $6 reimbursement through either PayPal or Venmo within 48 hours. (FYI, the brand informed me that the website won't go live until the promotion actually starts on July 1.)

As usual, some terms and conditions do apply. The receipt has to be for at least $6.01 (though Cupcake says it doesn't matter if that includes both wine and food), and it must specify "Cupcake" somewhere in writing to prove you're not trying to get Cupcake to pay you back for buying another brand's Pinot Grigio. But beyond that, Cupcake says that the program is available nationwide-which technically is 38 states, but that's not too shabby for a promotion that involves alcohol (since these kinds of deals are prohibited in some states).

"At Cupcake we're all about choosing joy and celebrating the little moments in life," Collin Cooney, director of marketing at Cupcake Vineyards, told us. "After so much time spent at home last year, we're thrilled to support the return to restaurants through our Welcome Back to Dining out program." And frankly, I'm thrilled to have anyone buy me a drink for any reason!
