Cross Country: Rocori sweeps at the Sauk Centre Invitational

Oct. 5—SAUK CENTRE — The Rocori boys and girls cross-country teams swept first place Tuesday in the Sauk Centre Invitational at Sauk Centre Golf Course.

The boys scored 48 points to edge second-place St. John's Prep, which had 62. New London-Spicer took fourth with 128.

The overall champ was Sauk Centre's Brandon Kampsen, who finished the 5,000-meter course in 15 minutes, 53.96 seconds. Kampsen is ranked second in the state in Class A.

In the girls' race, Rocori had 34 points. Pierz finished second with 58 and NLS was third with 94.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle junior Caroline Kuehne, who is ranked eighth in the state in Class A, took first in 19:22.27.

Morris/Chokio-Alberta junior Hailey Werk was third overall in 19:29.30. The Tigers finished fifth.

NLS' top finisher was Peyton Dahl. The sophomore finished 14th in 21:15.35.
