Cross-country: LQPV/D-B solid at Border Battle

Sep. 26—FARGO, N.D. — The Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd boys finished seventh and the girls took sixth at the ND/MN/SD/Canada XC Border Battle at Lincoln Drive Park in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The LQPV/D-B girls scored 189 points. Its top runner was Chloe Gloege, who was 24th with a time of 21 minutes, 5.98 seconds. Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg was 15th with 406 and was led by Amber Rosemeier's 66th-place time of 23:09.18.

Rugby (N.D.) was the girls team champion with 50 points. Finishing in first place was Brynn Hanson of Des Lacs Burlington (N.D.) at 19:05.18.

In the boys race, LQPV/D-B scored 200 points. Gavin Carl had the team's top time at 17:12.11. Benson/KMS placed 14th at 426, with Noah Johnson placing 66th at 19:09.18.

Bowman (N.D.) took first place in the boys tea competition. Bowman's Austin Wanner won the race at 16:17.76.
