Crime briefs: No injuries reported following gunshot in NW Rochester; more catalytic converter thefts

Mar. 3—No one was injured by a reported gunshot that led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Rochester man Tuesday.

Police officers were called to an apartment at 2106 Valleyhigh Drive at 1:49 p.m. Tuesday in response to a 911 call reporting a single gunshot, according to Rochester Police Capt. Casey Moilanen.

Ramel Livingston reportedly left the apartment after allegedly firing the shot at his brother and missing, following an argument.

"The brother says they were arguing about Ramel disrespecting his mother," Moilanen said, adding that Ramel Livingston and his mother share the apartment where the incident occurred.

Livingston was arrested after a car he was driving was stopped in the 2100 block of 15th Street Northwest Tuesday afternoon.

Moilanen said the arrest involved charges of second-degree assault, gross misdemeanor domestic assault, fifth-degree substance crime and reckless discharge of a firearm. — Five vehicles parked at a Rochester business had catalytic converters stolen sometime in the last two weeks.

The catalytic converters on four trucks at TruGreen Lawn Care, 6636 10th Ave. SW, were taken and the business is estimating the cost for repairs at $10,000, according to Moilanen.
