As the sun comes out and shines over the devastation Tropical Storm Ian caused in the Daytona Beach area along with the rest of Florida, many of us are craving a hot meal to fuel us for the long clean-up process ahead. Luckily, some restaurants were spared in the storm and are planning to open as soon as Friday, Sept. 30.

For those that can safely travel to these establishments, here is a list of popular restaurants that posted to social media saying they are now open or opening soon. The list is separated by county starting with Volusia followed by Flagler and presented in alphabetical order.

The Breakers Restaurant: 518 Flagler Ave., New Smyrna Beach; 386-428-2019; facebook.com/breakersnsb; opened at 11 a.m. on Friday offering drinks, appetizers and cold sandwiches with cash only. Parts of their kitchen were affected by the storm limiting food production

First Watch: Bradenton-based First Watch daytime restaurant chain announced Monday that all but 10 of its 85 affected company-owned restaurants "have reopened. The remaining unopened restaurants are located primarily in the Fort Myers and Naples markets where damage assessments and restoration of utilities are pending. While First Watch is still assessing the full impact of Hurricane Ian, management has determined the whereabouts of the company’s employees and believes fewer than five of its restaurants sustained any significant physical damage."
