Crashes on I-271 South in Richfield and on I-77 North near Ghent Road slowed the Tuesday morning commute in the greater Akron area. Icy roads were being reported.
Crashes on I-271 South in Richfield and on I-77 North near Ghent Road slowed the Tuesday morning commute in the greater Akron area. Icy roads were being reported.

Icy, hazardous roads were reported as vehicle crashes on Interstate 77 and on Interstate 271 slowed the Tuesday morning commute in the greater Akron area.

Emergency responders said they closed down a portion of I-271 because of the crash site and the hazardous driving conditions.

At 6:45 a.m., multiple vehicles were reported off the road and blocking one lane of I-271 South at mile marker 8 in Richfield. An SUV was reported flipped over, a pickup truck was blocking one lane of traffic, and a semi-trailer was off the road.

Another accident was reported on I-77 North past the Ghent Road exit.
