Early in the second half, the Cowboys have began to force their will on the Commanders with two quick stops from the defense. After a three-and-out from Washington, quarterback Cooper Rush fired a 45-yard strike to wide receiver Noah Brown.

After the big gain, hearts dropped in Dallas as seven-time All-Pro right guard Zack Martin was in pain following a right ankle injury. Martin attempted to stay on the field but teammates called to the sideline for trainers. Following a brief check with Martin, he walked to the sideline under his own power.

Martin has been the anchor of the Cowboys offensive line since he was drafted in 2014 and even the slightest injury to him leads to Dallas as a collective holding their breath. Martin spent time with trainers on the sideline, but it was a short visit and he’s set to return to the field.

With Martin likely good to return, the Cowboys offense keeps their best player on the field as the fourth quarter approaches in AT&T Stadium.
