Cowboys’ Michael Gallup, Trevon Diggs expected to play vs. Colts

The Indianapolis Colts (4-7-1) will be visiting the Dallas Cowboys (8-3) on Sunday night and even though there are some names on the injury report, the ones listed for the latter are expected to play,

Both starting wide receiver Michael Gallup and cornerback Trevon Diggs battled illnesses throughout the week, keeping them off the field for practices Wednesday and Thursday. They both returned to a limited practice Friday.

They are listed as questionable on the final injury report, but Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy expects both players to suit up in prime time Sunday night.

The Colts will already be down two starters—Kenny Moore II and Braden Smith—so they’ll be severely undermanned against one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL.

Though Gallup plays mostly on the outside and Moore is in the slot, there would have been a few plays where they lined up across from each other. Now, it’s likely going to be up to Stephon Gilmore, Isaiah Rodgers Sr. and Brandon Facyson.

Meanwhile, Diggs is expected to play, which means the duo of Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce will see their fair shares across from the reigning interception leader. Parris Campbell works mostly out of the slot so he won’t see Diggs as much.

The Cowboys are already the biggest favorites of the week, and it seems they’ll be close to full strength against the Colts.
