LAS CRUCES – Here are the COVID-19-related deaths in Doña Ana County reported by the New Mexico Department of Health in 2022.

Since April 23, 2020 (when the first death was recorded), 703 county residents have died from COVID-19 complications.

This page will be updated weekly. Here are the 280 COVID-19-related deaths in 2020. Here are the 322 COVID-19-related deaths in 2021.

For most people, COVID-19 causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. But for some — especially older adults and people with existing health problems — it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death. The vast majority of people recover.
