Hendrick Health reported Friday 57 COVID-19 inpatients, with 16 in ICU. On the last report Wednesday there were 55 COVID-19 inpatients, including with 17 in ICU.
The breakdown Friday by facilities was 53 inpatients at the Abilene hospitals (13 in ICU), and four at the Brownwood hospital (three in ICU).
Of the 57 Hendrick COVID-19 inpatients, 49 were not fully vaccinated.
The percentage of COVID-19 inpatients in the 16-county Abilene trauma service area was 6.33% of total capacity Thursday, compared to 6.35% Wednesday and 6.48% Tuesday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services COVID-19 database.
The Abilene trauma service area Friday had 63 COVID-19 inpatients, the same number reported Thursday. The state also reported Friday that seven admissions were made in the previous 24 hours.
Paramount Theatre hosting vaccine clinic for children, 5-11
Hendrick Health will be conducting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11 at The Paramount Theatre 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.
After receiving the vaccine, children can get a free popcorn and soft drink courtesy the theater, located in downtown Abilene, 352 Cypress St.
The theater also will screen free Pixar cartoons.
Walk-ins are welcome at the clinic.
Children who received their first vaccine at another location and have waited the appropriate time can receive their second at the clinic.

Abilene ISD: Reported Friday two new student cases, one each at Martinez and Purcell elementary schools.
Active cases total 29 (16 students, 13 staff members), two more than reported Thursday. Since Aug. 3, the district has reported 1,301 cases (1,055 students, 246 staff members).
Wylie ISD: Reported Friday zero new cases, with 10 active student cases, one less than Thursday.
Active cases by campus (all students): one at East Junior High, two at West Junior High, one at West Intermediate, three at Wylie High and three at West Elementary.
Abilene Christian University: Reported Friday zero new cases, with eight active cases, two less than Thursday. Of the active cases, 50% are unvaccinated. Due to possible exposure, two people are in quarantine. Cumulative cases since Aug. 17 total 194.
