Country singer Travis Tritt announces he won’t perform at venues that require COVID-19 vaccinations

Country music singer Travis Tritt has cancelled four concerts at venues that required proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Tritt said that this move shows that he is “putting my money where my mouth is.”

The four shows were promoted by Live Nation and AEG Live, both of which had strict COVID-19 protocols in place. They were set to be held at the Emens Auditorium on Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., on Oct. 23; the Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, Miss., on Nov. 6; the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Ill., on Nov. 11; and Louisville Palace in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 13.

In a statement, Tritt said that he and his team will not tolerate venues or promoters that require any COVID-19 prevention methods including masks, vaccinations and testing.

Tritt previously said in August that these requirements were examples of discrimination.

“Many people are taking a firm stand against these mandates around the country, and I wholeheartedly support that cause,” Tritt said. “I have been extremely vocal against mandates since the beginning. This is a sacrifice that I’m willing to make to stand up for the freedoms that generations of Americans have enjoyed for their entire lifetimes.”

Tritt went on to apologize for the cancellations but did not specify refund policies, Taste of Country reported.
