What could go wrong at a gun convention?

We have all heard gun rights advocates say (some with amazing pompous indignation) that "guns don't kill people, people kill people."

So why, in the "open-carry" state of Texas, where anyone can own a gun without a permit or training, is the National Rifle Association Conference this weekend in Houston making the arena a "gun-free" zone when former President Trump speaks?

I wonder what they think could possibly go wrong? How did they make that decision? What on Earth could they be afraid of?
