COTA is offering all-summer, one-price passes for all students now through Sept. 15.

The Central Ohio Transit Authority has launched a discount summer pass program for students of all ages running now through Sept. 15.

The passes, which cost $62, allow holders unlimited access to fixed-route buses, on-demand COTA//Plus service, and COTA Mainstream paratransit services at a savings of more $150, the transit agency said in a release.

COTA officials say the pass will help "close the transit gap that often happens during summer when school isn't in session," allowing students of all ages (elementary, secondary, college, university, vocational, tech, trade, etc) unlimited access to public transit for summer jobs, internships, job shadowing, and fun activities.

The program uses COTA's digital fare payment system, with pass holders using the Transit app or a COTA smartcard for any fixed-route transportation. Students using COTA//Plus will receive a special access code to ride, and those using COTA Mainstream will receive instructions upon enrollment.

COTA is hosting a "School's Out for Summer Beach Party" enrollment drive now through Friday at the COTA Experience Center on 33 N. High St. to provide more information about the program.

To enroll in the program, students should bring a student ID or proof of enrollment, such as a transcript, enrollment letter or web portal, to the COTA Experience Center Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
