Coshocton Public Library October events

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Public Library System has announced programs and activities for October at the main library and the branch in West Lafayette.

∙ Lynn Fraelich is the featured artist with work on display at the branch library throughout the month.

∙ The Books Galore Bookstore is open from 3 to 6 p.m. Mondays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays at the main library.

∙ Public technology education sessions are available by appointment from 10 a.m. to noon at the main library for those who need help with devices, applications and software programs.

∙ Behind Ojos de Dios to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at the main library. Adults are invited to explore the popular crafts derived from Hispanic and Native American culture.

∙ Lapsit for babies and toddlers with their caregivers is from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the branch library and Wednesdays at the main library.

∙ Letterland Storytime for preschools and their caregivers is from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the branch library and Wednesdays at the main library.

∙ Plugged and Unplugged for those in seventh to 12th grades with video games, laptops and snacks is from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays at the main library.

∙ Storytime in the Park will be from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at River View Community Park in Warsaw and Oct. 20 at Clary Gardens.

∙ Horrifying History of Coshocton is from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. Oct. 10 at Oak Ridge Cemetery on North Sixth Street. Learn about the horrific side of local history at the oldest graveyard in Coshocton in this repeat program from last year. A program with new stories will be Oct. 31.

∙ Explore a World of Possibilities is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 11 at the main library allows seniors to armchair travel around the world. Keepsake passports will be stamped after each program.

∙ Friends of the Library meet in regular session from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 12 at the main library.

∙ Book Club for Tweens for those in third to sixth grades will cover "Wings of Fire: the Dragonet Prophecy" by Tui T. Sutherland from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the main library.

∙ The library system will be closed Oct. 17 for a staff in-service day.

∙ Bookmarked adult book club will discuss "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley at the main library and via Zoom.

∙ Create a Masterpiece from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the main library will allow teens to create artwork with a variety of supplies to be displayed at the library throughout November. The same program will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20 a the branch library.

∙ Trivia Night is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at the main library for teams or solo competitors.

∙ Harry Putter Fun Night with crafts and activities is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the main library.
