Deaths: A further 350 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England. The deaths were between 25 October and 30 November. There were 34 deaths in Scotland in the last 24 hours. Public Health Wales reported another 23 deaths. A further 15 deaths were recorded in Northern Ireland, taking the nation’s total to more than 1,000. The UK as a whole recorded 603 deaths. Read more here.

COVID-19 is currently causing eight times more deaths than flu or pneumonia in England and Wales, according to new data. The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that coronavirus accounted for just over a fifth (21.5%) of all deaths registered in the two countries in the week ending 20 November. Politics: There are no plans for people in the UK to be given coronavirus “vaccine passports” to allow entry into pubs and restaurants, a government minister has said. Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove said the government does not plan to introduce immunity passports once vaccines are available to let businesses know customers have had the jab. Read more here.

A row over what constitutes a substantial meal has been rolling on as ministers decide the criteria for pubs to serve alcohol under England’s new tiered lockdown system. Pubs in Tier 2 areas won’t be able to serve alcohol without also serving food, and Gove has said a Scotch egg or two would be considered a starter. Read more here.

Boris Johnson has promised that “wet pubs”, which don’t serve food, will get a one-off payment of £1,000 in Tiers 2 and 3, as they will be unable to operate under the new system. Read more here.

England: London recorded its highest weekly coronavirus death toll for six months, as 160 people died. There were a total of 1,086 deaths from all causes in London in the week. Read more here.

Holiday home owners in Cornwall have been told not to take Christmas bubble bookings from people in Tier 3 areas. Visit Cornwall has advised the holiday lettings industry in the county not to rent their properties to those from the highest coronavirus alert level. Read more here.

Wales: Pubs are banned from selling alcohol after 6pm from Friday, and the nation’s biggest brewer Brains says it will have to close 100 pubs while the measures are in place. Read more here.

Scotland: Nicola Sturgeon is under pressure to top up a £500 bonus for NHS staff after she challenged Boris Johnson not to tax the money. The challenge backfired when she was told she had the power to “gross up the payment”. Read more here.

Lockdowns: One in four people found the second lockdown harder to follow than the first one, according to a survey. Bad weather, feeling worn out and unfairness played into the reasons the second one was harder to follow. Read more here.

Cancelled plans: Online travel and leisure retailer lastminute.com has agreed to pay out over £7m to customers who have been waiting for refunds for package holidays cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, following action from the government. The Competition and Markets Authority said it investigated the company after receiving hundreds of complaints that people were not receiving refunds. Read more here.

Christmas: The Queen and Prince Philip will stay in Windsor for Christmas, the first time they haven’t gone to Sandringham in more than 30 years. It’s not clear if any other royals will stay with them at the Berkshire castle during the five-day window allowed by the UK government. Read more here.

Sport: Lewis Hamilton has tested positive for coronavirus. It means he will miss this weekend's Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain. He woke up with mild symptoms on Monday after testing negative last week. Read more here.

Pandemic source: China underreported cases of coronavirus by more than half during the early stages of the pandemic, according to a leaked document. Deaths were also underreported, according to the papers, which were obtained by CNN. Read more here.
