Should she survive the week ahead, young Summer will probably be left wishing that she’d stayed at her grandmother’s. She’s been back in Weatherfield mere weeks and now – whammo! – she’ll end up bouncing off the bonnet of a car after disturbing an intruder at the flat.

Now, there is more to this case of breaking-and-entering than initially meets the eye, as it’s Will who’s forced his way onto the property, under the instructions of Todd, of course. And the fallout from the incident will be sizeable, with Billy blaming Paul for bringing Will into their lives.

As Billy and Paul split up, will Todd feel any guilt for the chaos he’s orchestrated? Or will he just continue to smarm around in a Next Directory suit thinking he’s a cut above everyone else?

Romance for Asha and Nina

Nina is drawn to Asha like a goth to a flame and the pair are soon seen enjoying a burgeoning romance. But the news that that they’re together is set to poleaxe Dev, with the idiosyncratic shopkeeper left slack-jawed with surprise by the news.

Worries should be high, though, about how Asha’s thuggish ex-boyfriend Corey will react should he discover all. It’s already been confirmed that Nina will be the focus of a ”heartbreaking” issue-based storyline – which makes me think that Corrie is about to offer up its own take on the real-life Sophie Lancaster tragedy. For those who don’t remember, Lancaster was a teen goth who died after being attacked in a Lancashire park in 2007.

Asha Alahan [TANISHA GOREY] shuns Corey [MAXIMUS EVANS] while Nina [MOLLIE GALLAGHER] watches on (ITV)

Let’s hope that any similarities won’t result in Nina having to exit, as her quirkiness has become a key part of the dynamics at Roy’s Rolls.

Can Peter focus on the future?

You’d have thought Peter would want to steer clear of the Rovers, or indeed any establishment with an alcohol licence. But it seems that the lure of a hotpot is impossible to resist, hence Peter popping into the pub – and then ducking back out again when the noise and smell become overwhelming.

The chips are down for Simon

Simon has money on his mind when he discovers mum Leanne is behind with the electricity payments. Salvation comes in the form of a £60 loan from Jacob, a mate of Simon’s who works in the chippy. But Kelly is unimpressed by Jacob’s show of generosity and her concern mounts later in the week when this supposed friend comes up with the gift of a bike after Si’s cycle is stolen.

By this point, viewers too will be growing suspicious that free cash and transport can’t possibly be arriving without strings attached. And sure enough, by Friday, just when Simon is about to set off on a chip-shop delivery, Jacob takes the bag out of his hands and tells him he has to make a delivery of a very different kind…
