Cops: No foul play suspected

May 7—ENFIELD — Police have identified the woman who was found dead in her driveway Thursday morning as 48-year-old Kristy Leigh Rossignol, and despite early questions surrounding the circumstances of her death, they said on Friday afternoon that an investigation has found no foul play.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told the Journal Inquirer on Friday afternoon that the cause and manner of death was yet to be determined.

Police said they received a report from a neighbor at about 6:40 a.m. Thursday saying that a woman was lying in her driveway at 10B Wallace St., which records show is a multifamily home with apartments. Medical personnel pronounced the woman deceased shortly after arriving on the scene, according to Capt. Jeffrey Golden of the Enfield Police Department.

Detectives were called to the scene alongside the state police Major Crime Squad to investigate, and police obtained a warrant to search the woman's home, Golden said Friday morning. He also said at that time that police did not see any "obvious" signs of a homicide.
