Several units responded for a “complex extrication.” The efforts to free the driver took two hours, after which West Michigan Air Car transported the driver to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital. OCSO reports the driver suffered injuries to her lower extremities and abdomen.

Preliminary investigation showed the driver of the Silverado was traveling south on Eighth Avenue when she drifted over the centerline, colliding with the farm combine traveling on the northbound shoulder.

The impact forced the truck into the ditch alongside the road, where it came to a rest upside down. A front wheel was knocked off of the combine.
