Construct Duluth website will help users navigate road construction
Apr. 10—A new website providing real-time road construction updates and routes in Duluth is now available.
Construct Duluth, accessed at constructduluth.org, has an interactive map that shows closures, obstructions, projects and parking spaces.
Information about current projects and how long they will take will be available for users with real-time updates. A weekly newsletter will be published on the website and Construct Duluth Facebook page, detailing progress, changes and including photos.
The city of Duluth announced the website's launch Friday afternoon in partnership with St. Louis County, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Essentia Health and St. Luke's. The release from the city said 2021 is shaping up to be the busiest road construction season Duluth has ever seen, with upcoming road construction projects for all five of the site's major partners planned in the next several years.
In addition to project details, the site also lists job opportunities and trainings within the construction trades. CareerForce and other local nonprofits are working to provide local workers to the construction firms completing the area projects.
