KEVIN IOLE: Well, after UFC 250 ended, there was even more drama as we got to the pressroom and former featherweight and lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, announced his retirement. It's a huge number of fighters who say they are walking away or have retired.

It started last month with Henry Cejudo, the bantamweight champion who retired after UFC 249. Jon Jones, the light heavyweight champion, is unhappy with an offer he was made to fight Francis Ngannou. Says that he may walk away from the sport or ask for his release. On Friday, the BMF champion, Jorge Masvidal, said he wanted his release to see if he could get a better deal. Even Saturday night here, Sugar Sean O'Malley said he deserves more money and wants to get a bigger payday.

Connor McGregor said he is going to retire. He put that out on social media. I find it hard to believe. He's used that tactic before. I think he's bluffing in an attempt to get more money. My guess is he's frustrated that he can't get a fight. There's no logical fight for him now. They were going to make a fight with him and Masvidal. Masvidal now, though, doesn't want to fight.

So there's nothing out there right now for Conor to do. So I think it's some frustration. And I do believe we'll see him back. My guess is all those guys, with the exception of Cejudo, will be back. But Conor McGregor, for sure, he's pulled this one before. And I don't think it's anything more than a little negotiating ploy and some frustration. From Las Vegas, I am Kevin Iole for "Yahoo Sports."
