Get a complete preview of the NCHSAA football regional finals on Tuesday’s Talking Preps

Tuesday night at 8 p.m., Talking Preps NC returns with a complete preview for NCHSAA regional championship week. On tap:

We welcome new Talking Preps correspondent Sammy Sen to the show and she’ll debut her first video with Cox Mill star Tyrell Coard. She’ll also face off with Coach Greiner on The Game Show.

Grice and Greiner introduce and feature the N.C. players of the week: Aronne Herring, New Bern; Keandre Walker, East Lincoln; Cam Medlock, South Point; Mitchell Summers, Grimsley; and Ben Mauney of Burns. Mauney will join us in studio.

Chelsea sits down with South Point star Sullivan Absher, who is heading to Notre Dame to play offensive line. Absher and South Point face East Lincoln in a 3A semifinal Friday.

Alex has some thoughts on CMS schools in these playoffs and in the past 25 years.

Dale offers his thoughts on a wild quarterfinal weekend: are we undervaluing Greensboro Grimsley (still?); the rise of Draughn High in Burke County; and thoughts on East Lincoln’s big upset of Kings Mountain. We’ll also hear from Hough coach Matt Jenkins and Grimsley’s Darryl Brown.

Chris Hughes, the No. 1 voice of N.C. high school football, goes statewide to look at the quarterfinals and lead a discussion of all eight regional championship games. It’s the best breakdown available anywhere.

In his “Frontline Warrior” segment, Greiner sits down with Weddington star Knox Willingham, who lost his role as the team’s starting quarterback and volunteered to go play defense -- and the Warriors got rolling after that. They’ll play Grimsley in the 4A semifinals Friday.

We’ve got four new “Fresh Faces” to introduce: East Duplin’s Brecken Bowles; East Lincoln’s Christopher “Deuce” Daley; Draughn’s Nigel Dula; and Wallace Rose-Hill’s Corbin Kerr.

Finally on “Coach vs. Coach,” Grice, Greiner and Chris debate spring practice in North Carolina, should the Panthers make Steve Wilks the permanent coach, and how high school playoff officials should be assigned.
