Tests on Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor’s injured ankle came back negative Monday morning, and he still has a chance to play Thursday night against the Denver Broncos.

How big of a chance he has is the question. The positive news is that head coach Frank Reich told the media Monday that all of the tests came back clean. There doesn’t seem to be any concern over a long-term injury, but Taylor’s status for Thursday night is still up in the air.

Taylor injured his ankle during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss against the Tennessee Titans. The Colts initially feared that the injury was a high-ankle sprain, which would likely keep Taylor off the field for a few weeks. However, the severity of the ankle injury hasn’t been revealed yet.

The Colts will have practice reports every day leading up to Thursday’s game even if most of them will be walkthroughs. We should get a better idea of Taylor’s status Wednesday when the final injury report comes out for the week.
