Colts make 1st of what could be several coaching changes of the offseason

INDIANAPOLIS --The Colts have made their first coaching change of the offseason.

Defensive line coach Brian Baker will not be back for a third season in Indianapolis, a league source confirmed to IndyStar on Wednesday.

Baker, who was hired before the 2020 season, took over a defensive line room full of young players who largely struggled to develop, aside from Grover Stewart's emergence at nose tackle in 2020.

Is it sustainable? Colts defense is built on takeaways, but that brings concerns

The move could be only the first on the Indianapolis staff, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus is one of three finalists for the Chicago Bears head coaching job, and if Eberflus gets hired, it's likely the Colts will have to make several changes on the defensive side of the ball.

This story will update.
