College Volleyball: Ridgewater swept by Rochester

Sep. 26—ROCHESTER — The Ridgewater Warriors fell to Rochester Community and Technical College in three sets on Saturday.

RCTC won 25-17, 25-13 and 25-11. Ridgewater has six consecutive losses, dating back to Sept. 14.

"The team worked hard against the No. 3 (rated) RCTC (in NJCAA Division III), but unfortunately wasn't a match against their dynamic defense," Ridgewater head coach Amanda Bohlsen said.

The Warriors saw four-kill efforts from two of their freshman middle hitters, Julia Schweiss and Yansi Flores.

Leading the defensive charge for Ridgewater against the Yellowjackets were freshman setter Olivia Naatjes and sophomore libero Tayler Schmidt. Both recorded double-digit digs with 14 and 11.

"We are proud of how hard they fought for every point and how hard they pushed through each play and many long rallies," Bohlsen said. "We look forward to facing them again."

The Warriors return to action at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, hosting RCTC in a Minnesota College Athletic Conference South Division matchup at Ridgewater College.
