College basketball: Holy Cross women dispatch Saint Mary's

Kayliana Hammel scored 24 points and had five rebounds as Holy Cross topped neighbor Saint Mary's, 70-55, in women's college basketball at Saint Mary's College Tuesday night.

Holy Cross capitalized on 30 turnovers by the Belles to out-score Saint Mary's 35-4 in points off of giveaways.

Jayda Miller added 15 points for the Saints.

For Saint Mary's, Maddie Rzepka led the Belles with 12 points. Lauren Gumma posted a season-high 11 points.

Holy Cross is 5-5 and Saint Mary's drops to 2-7.
